Good Morning!!!

Today we fly to San Diego, CA for a quick nights stop before heading to Mexico. Wow!!! So much to do when you are planning on leaving for quite awhile! PHEW! Still more to do……

We depart Portland at 3:15pm and head to Pheonix. After a short layover we fly to San Diego, spend the night in a hotel then catch a city bus to the border.

Please be praying as we travel that everything would go smoothly. Satan would sure love to put glitches in this trip.

I will update you AS MUCH AS I CAN. (which is hopefully……weekly?!?!)

Okay folks……..

In about two weeks Casey and I will be leaving for Mexico. (Which was on reason for the change of the blog – this website is much easier to download with bad internet than blogger). In Mexico we will be staying in a town called San Quintin. Over the years, through Casey’s many trips down there, he has made good friends with some people and we will be staying with them. As of right now we will be helping around the community, meeting any needs people might have, Casey will be working in a medical clinic for a day or two, etc.

Are you wondering how long we will be gone?!? We are too. 🙂 We do not know yet. It may be 2, 4, or even 5 weeks. It really all depends on how much we are needed down there and most importantly when God tells us to leave. The whole purpose of our trip is to just share the love of God with people and we hope in everything we do His love will be evident.

In the meantime, I have been shopping and creating to get ready. ha ha. I have made several skirts for our trip down there. It is warm, the skirts need to be a bit long than I normally would wear (to respect their culture) and I figure they will probably get very dirty. So, you will be seeing pictures of me in skirts and you can remember…..wow…..Erin made those. ha ha ha

As for the shopping, I have been gathering all sorts of things from Spanish books to sunscreen (for me and my Norwegian skin) to take down there. Obviously we are very excited to go but we ask that you would please be praying for us while we are down there. We would be grateful if you would do that.

Anywho…… I will post more before we go.

Well folks, I am officially graduated! WHOHOO! Now…..I never have to go to school again! Well, at least not for about ten years. 🙂 My job has been wonderful and continues to be great but will end April 30th. Casey’s will as well…..so……….

As of right now we are hoping to go to Mexico. Not sure when departure will be, but ideally in may.

Hm…..that’s all for now 🙂

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes! March 11, 2010

Seven days from today I will be a college graduate. I will have my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. As of next week I will not have homework daunting my every thought, writing assignments cosuming my life and dinner while I am driving. Change is coming and I am excited.

Another change that is coming, as most of you know, is that Casey is going to medical school. Soon we will be making a choice that will impact the next four years of our life. So many people have said, “Four years is not that long!” In the scope of things it is not, but four years is not something I am willing to waste. We want to serve the Lord and do so whereever we have been called, we are not just picking a place to stop in…..I hope that makes sense. So, where ever we do end up chosing, please know a tremendous amount of prayer was put into it.

Oh wait, another change! I am currently working at a tax office and will be doing so full time until April 30th. Casey is currently working at a lab on OSU campus and his job will be completed on April 15th. Although I can substitue starting May 1st, God has put it on Casey and I’s heart to travel to Tijuana. Casey has been down there too many times to count and while down there works at a drug rehabilitation center that a church runs. I have been down there once and (obviously) have a huge heart of children. Our plan so far, if God so desires, is to spend about four weeks working with the families of the church we are partners with, helping at an orphanage and organizing medical recards at the drug rehab center. Please pray for us as we have many choices to make.

Guess what? ANOTHER CHANGE! We are moving. We are not ready to announce and have not made a final decision on where we are headed, but we will be moving soon. If we do in fact go to Mexico, we will move in June or July, however if we do not end up going we may be moving sooner.

Gosh, God is good. Life is forever changing and will continue to change but one thing that we continue to rely on is His love. Thank you for all your prayers and please know that we pray for all of you!

OH AND MARK THIS ON YOUR CALENDER – YESTERDAY, MARCH 9th, 2010, I, ERIN, DID NOT FALL ASLEEP WATCHING A MOVIE. BOOYAH.

Ahh the joys of life… March 8, 2010

I know I have not blogged in a long time, but I have not had a chance to really stop and breath the craziness we both like to call life.

We just got back from Irvine, California where Casey had an interview for Medical School. Let me tell you……this place was posh! If we wanted to move here…….I think I would need to buy a Beamer. Although it was great to visit this place, we really do not think this is where God wants us.

God has given us both a huge heart for serving the under served and Irvine just really is not that place.

However, it was a great trip, full of fun, sun, homework and….well……..interviews. 🙂

School is almost over!

Graduation party March 26th (Friday) 7pm in Philomath at my Parents new place. Mark your calendars now….invites going out soon. 🙂

We go to Irvine this weekend. Casey has another interview. We have a big choice to make. Please pray for us.

I have been super busy this week as my schedule below indicates. 🙂 This week was hard…..two friends of mine did some things very unusual of their character and it makes me sad for them. Because it is their life and this is public, all I really want to say is, please be praying. God knows who they are.

I worked a full week at my job. I still love it. YES! This will be a great place to work and I am sure I will miss the people when I leave April 31st. (I was hired for tax season). So…..get those taxes done!

This week was my grandpa and grandma’s 55th anniversary. I love them so much. How cool is that?! 55 years………….what incredible people.
